Job Description

The National Transport Commission (NTC) is an independent advisory body. NTC provides quality, impartial advice and national land transport reform proposals to governments through the COAG Transport and Infrastructure Council. NTC contributes to the achievement of national reform priorities which are agreed by the Council.

The Senior Policy Analyst will be responsible for providing analysis and advice in relation to the development and implementation of effective national land transport policy reforms and contribute to preparing evidence-based policy reports and recommendations. The position will also assist in liaising with an extensive field of external stakeholders and organisations with an interest in, or that are affected by, national land transport reforms, to ensure they have effective input to the reform process.

You will bring to this role highly developed analytical and conceptual skills from your experience within legal or policy focused positions across your career to date. With a reputation for your ability to deliver to deadlines and outcomes, you possess strong project management skills and have the ability to identify creative solutions to complex problems. As this role works across two teams, you are able to work effectively with others and bring value to each interaction through your well established interpersonal and verbal communication skills. Your people skills are backed by exceptional written communication skills with demonstrated experience in writing research reports and other key strategic documents.

With NTC being focused on transport policy at a national level, an understanding of the policy and reforms in the national/federal system would be desirable but not essential as would the knowledge of risk-based approaches to regulation.
If you are seeking a role that works across multiple projects relating to national reforms for land transport policy and are looking to expand your career experience, this is an opportunity not to be missed.
