More than ever, the work of the Department is critical in supporting the economic recovery of our state and this newly created role has a key role to play.

The Regional Director, Inner Metropolitan plays a strategic leadership role for the Local Government and Suburban Development group and on behalf of the State Government in inner metropolitan Melbourne. Newly created the role is responsible for leading a strategic development agenda and high performing cross-departmental teams to develop and broker solutions that drive economic and community development across the Inner Metropolitan region.

Reporting to the Deputy Secretary, Local Government and Suburban Development, this pivotal leadership role will forge key partnerships across state and local government and with stakeholders, businesses and community leaders to achieve the Department's objectives to ensure Victoria's strong economic performance by growing industries and regions.

As a proven executive within the business / economic development field, you bring a track record in the development and delivery of strategic economic and community development projects or investments. Ideally understanding the Government's economic and community development agenda and priorities in metropolitan Melbourne, you demonstrate strong leadership, stakeholder management and strategic capability. Leading this whole of government approach to identify and deliver strategic priorities in the Inner Metropolitan region, there will be significant job satisfaction in leading jobs creation, infrastructure, regional planning, investment attraction and economic recovery needs.
