Reporting to the Manager Commercial Services, the Property Coordinator is a key leadership role within the organisation, responsible for overseeing Council's property portfolio, including:

  • The sale, acquisition or vesting of property and discontinuance of identified parcels of land
  • Managing leases and licenses to ensure they deliver maximum community benefit and return to Council
  • Spearheading property projects, including new initiatives and capital bids, and ensuring they are effectively project managed to completion
  • Managing relationships with internal stakeholders across council as well as external stakeholders including the community, tenants, and government agencies

Furthermore, the Property Coordinator will be responsible for revising and delivering Bayside City Council's Property Strategy and property-related policies, and ensuring that the policies support best-practice solutions. The Property Coordinator will also be responsible for managing and supporting a team of five professionals, ensuring a high-performing division who can add value across Council and for the community.

To be considered for the role of Property Coordinator, you will be an energetic, engaging and driven professional who has specialised knowledge and expertise in property and lease management practices. You will have a strong familiarity with the relevant legislation, coupled with knowledge and experience with the sale, acquisition and development of property, ideally in a local government setting or the broader public sector (including state government, statutory authorities, health). Additionally, you will have exceptional stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to deal with ambiguity and change, as well as experience maximising the community value of a diverse property portfolio.
