About the Company
Government client based in Parramatta.
About the Role
The client needs and experienced project manager or master data manager to help them put together an action plan to facilitate the collation, cleansing and remediation of very large data sets which are stored in a up to 60 different systems.
The aim is to work with the project team to clearly put a plan in place with key measurements to gather and cleanse the data as they approach a key milestone that is the end of the financial year. The data consists of hundreds of projects based around the storage of assets which includes contract and project information related to large rail corridor, roads, bridge data that needs to be updated by financial year end as a number of projects will be allocated to new suppliers in the new financial year and the project information needs to be remediated to allow a smooth transition.
The aim is to reduce the legacy systems and improve data quality and eventually lead to a second phase which would most likely result in a migration on to an SAP asset management solution after the initial 9 months remediation phase is completed.
The role is a Master Data Management role. The role is not a BI technical project as such and as a result the candidate will be measured on previous large scale complex data management projects experience. Candidates can come from any industry sector but the role is working with data supporting large physical assets such as bridges, rail and road corridors and a lot of the project teams come from an engineering background.
You will manage the outputs of 5 analysts and coordinate KPIs and SLA's to get the work down. Part of the role is to set up a data migration strategy and plan and present that to the executive on the way forward and to position a clear future state proposition.
The role requires excellent communication skills and very strong stakeholder engagement qualities.
Strong chance of an extension after the 9 month remediation plan is done.
