Resources Safety & Health Queensland (RSHQ) is an independent statutory body responsible for regulating safety and health in the state's resources industries including coal mines, mineral mines and quarries, explosives and petroleum and gas.
The Coal Inspectorate of RSHQ, is seeking to appoint an exceptional mining industry leader to fulfil the statutory role of Principal Investigation Officer under the Coal Mining Safety and Health Act 1999.
The Principal Investigation Officer plays a critical role in the provision of high quality investigation services, technical advice and assistance to safety and Health Inspectorates in the regulation of the State's Coal mining industry.
This role will coordinate the investigation process for all major investigations into alleged non-compliance to legislation, and provide assistance with investigation into major injuries, accidents and complaints.
Whilst these are investigatory and enforcement roles they also require experienced coal mining industry leaders who can represent RSHQ at all levels across the coal mining industries, employers and employees, RSHQ and the public.
Qualifications in Investigations and substantial experience in the industrial investigation process are highly desirable to succeed in this role.
