We recently reviewed and realigned our operating model to reduce management and administrative overhead and this critical leadership role will ensure we have the capability and capacity to support the community to recover from Covid-19 and a new council.
Reporting to the General Manager City Growth & Organisational Capability, the Manager Governance & Organisational Performance Department is responsible for creating strategic alignment and providing governance and assurance over Council's activities. This role will also be responsible for implementing the requirements of a new Local Government Act and on boarding a new Council as well as the development of a new Council Plan. The position will play a key role in managing the Council Plan, performance reporting and providing high level expertise, guidance and advice on corporate governance, risk and regulation. Critical to the success of the position will be the ability to build credible and trusted advisor relationships with the CEO, the Mayor and Councilors both individually and as a whole.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an innovative and progressive leader who has substantial experience in a broad range of strategic areas. You are experienced in ensuring the achievement of good governance outcomes within a local government or a related context. Further, you are highly regarded for your ability to engage stakeholders and build consensus to deliver alignment between political and operational objectives. Your successful influencing and negotiation skills coupled with your analytical problem-solving mind will be required to see you identify issues, develop solutions and provide authoritive advice across the organisation. Additionally, your experience developing strong and collaborative working relationships; proven ability to enhance the capability of your team and confidence to hit the ground running will aid in your success in this role.
