South Gippsland Water (SGW) is a service provider responsible for water and wastewater service provision for over 20,000 customers. We aim to contribute to economic development and provide environmentally sustainable water and wastewater services, in a way that benefits our customers and the wider community in the Region. SGW routinely delivers strong customer satisfaction results within the Victorian Water Sector. This newly created role provides the opportunity to build on these results by engaging on areas of value to the community.
Reporting to the General Manager Corporate Services, the Manager Finance & Commercial Services will work with the executive leadership team and Board to optimise financial performance and further strengthen the financial sustainability of SGW. With responsibility for financial planning, reporting and measurement, you will oversee the finance function to ensure the organisation is well connected and can deliver high quality services for customers. Together with your team, you will bring a strong focus on continuous improvement, including automating processes and systems to improve financial controls and enhance the overall operations of the finance function. In addition to managing the finance team, you will also oversee procurement and work closely with management across each of the business units to find efficiencies. This role will provide you with the opportunity to interact closely with the Board to strengthen the financial health of the organisation by leveraging efficiencies and commercial opportunities with key partners.
To succeed in this role, you will be an experienced people leader, a motivated self-starter, and passionate about inspiring teams and delivering excellent internal customer service. You will be able to engage with the business to drive continuous improvement and business process efficiencies to enhance the business' sustainability. With CPA/CA qualifications (or equivalent), you will have the ability to generate creative solutions for varied financial issues and effectively communicate advice. You will be an engaging and proactive leader, with extensive experience in strategic financial management, as well as broader business management.
