- Create great outcomes for Moreland's cosmopolitan community
Moreland is a progressive council with 180,000 residents: one community, proudly diverse. Our city is usually vibrant and energetic, known for its active community, array of fabulous festivals, cool pools, eclectic shops and our community of artists and creative industries. As a Council, we're supporting our community in difficult times, and our long term vision has ambitious goals for environmental sustainability, community wellbeing, and creating great places.
Moreland Council strives to be a contemporary, innovative and collaborative organisation with a deep commitment to, and engagement with, the Moreland community. With the Civic Centre located in Coburg, just 8 kilometres north of Melbourne's CBD, there are excellent public transport options and great food and cafés right at the doorstep. Moreland City Council is a great place to live, work and play.
Reporting to the Director Community Development, the Manager Cultural Development will oversee and champion the arts, library and festival / events portfolios, maintaining the current high standards of delivery while fostering innovative new ideas, programs and strategies that support the changing needs and expectations of the Moreland community.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a contemporary, strategic leader with proven experience leading large diverse teams in arts, culture, libraries (or similar) within the public sector, ideally in local government.
You are seen as a champion for libraries and the arts, and you're passionate about how they make the world a better place. You are adept at forming credible and collaborative relationships (including through virtual means) with stakeholders both internal and external to your organisation. Furthermore, you demonstrate a strong commitment to continuous improvement and are highly regarded for your exceptional people leadership and ability to cultivate high performing teams.
Moreland City Council is proudly diverse and an equal opportunity employer. We encourage applications from the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, people with disability, and people from every culture, gender and sexuality identity, age and ethnic background. Moreland City Council is committed to being a Child Safe organisation and has zero tolerance for child abuse.
