Manager Children's Services

We are thrilled to be working with Cobar Shire Council to appoint the next Manager Children's Services. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Children's Services professional to oversee a range of services across the region - all whilst enjoying the benefits of country living.

Cobar is a rural mining town located in far western NSW. Working for Cobar Shire Council will provide you with a work/life balance that is often not found in the private sector or the hustle and bustle of city living. With only a five-minute commute, this full-time position will be working a 9-day fortnight, 35 hours a week.

We are looking for an experienced, passionate, and dynamic educational leader to develop and coordinate the delivery of outstanding children's services across the region. Reporting to the Director Finance & Community Services, you will be values driven team player, possessing strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Duties will include:

  • Ensuring all children's services (family day care, in-home care, out of school hours care and preschool) operate efficiently, cost effectively and in accordance with the required standards, legislation, and regulations
  • Delivering a high-performance team culture whilst providing support, coaching and quality mentoring to educators and educational leaders
  • Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a collaborative approach to the integrated planning and delivery of optimal services

An attractive remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful candidate, dependent on skills, experience and qualifications including relocation assistance, subsidised housing and a leaseback vehicle.
