Role Description:

This is an important project role and your communication, business analysis, and technical skills will be of paramount importance. Functional specialists play a key role to support activities across the work streams as the project progresses through the software development lifecycle

Role Responsibilities:

  • Develop an understanding of the solution and support regression and user acceptance testing activities;
  • Provide support in the analysis of end-user feedback during testing;
  • Provide support for go-live activities in consultation with key stakeholders and the project change partner;
  • Ensure that requirements are managed, documented and incorporated into solutions implementation and support the project's suppliers in understanding business needs accurately;
  • Learn the required skills to configure user views within the system;
  • Integrate the to-be work practices and required process changes into the end-user training;
  • Support end-user readiness and conduct relevant assessments to ensure knowledge of and competency in the use of the ICT solution;
  • Support the project to understand business impacts of to-be processes and participate in business continuity and contingency planning and in formulating the cut-over plan, standard operating procedures and help desk procedures;
  • Assist the project governance team to make go-live decisions based on quality standards;
  • Support the project governance team by providing visibility on progress, risks, issues and outstanding actions;
  • Adhere to the defined project implementation method; and
  • Work with other streams and stakeholders as required to support Program level initiatives.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Excellent business analysis skills associated with testing and implementation of ICT solutions;
  • Experience with Business Process Modelling using BPMN;
  • Experience with working in a hands-on industrial or rail work environment to elicit requirements and understand work practices.
  • Experience developing queries using SQL / Java
  • Excellent analytical, observation and organisation skills;
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills;
  • Understanding of business intelligence tools and processes;
  • Understanding of the fundamental elements of project management in large-scale ICT solution implementations;
  • Understanding of the ICT application software development lifecycle; and
  • Broad experience in information technology in order to understand how software solutions may deliver required outcomes.
