About the Company
The City of Brisbane Investment Corporation (CBIC) is Brisbane's 'future fund', charged with delivering responsible long-term investment growth that helps to fund the City's future services and amenity needs, and contribute to securing Brisbane's future.
Managed by an independent Board of Directors, and comprising a tight-knit group of professionals focussed on delivering real outcomes, CBIC holds a range of commercial and retail property assets locally and interstate.
CBIC is committed to integrating responsible investing principles into its investment decisions to deliver better outcomes, and ensure that as a government-backed investor, it makes a positive contribution to the environment and the community it serves.
About the Role
The primary objective of the role is to assume a supporting and advisory role in the management of CBIC's real estate assets, including investment analysis, property management and board reporting. Initially, your focus will be to familiarise yourself with all the assets, building relationships with the Asset Managers to understand the financial drivers of each asset, as well as understanding their value and debt modelling. You will be an integral part of the team working on the implementation of the new accounting system (MRI), ensuring it goes smoothly and numerical data is accurate. You will then begin to work with the team on modelling various scenarios for the fund. This will include looking at acquisitions and disposals, but also creating models on various future scenarios and potential outcomes.
You will also assist the Head of Real Estate in the preparation of monthly board reports, liaising with the Head of Finance and Company Accountant to ensure accuracy and alignment with corporate objectives and strategies.
A real "numbers person" you will enjoy the challenge that this role provides, being able to use your curious mind to model various scenarios and stress testing assets to provide the best quality data to the senior leadership team. You will be able to demonstrate the ability to work with complex numerical data and show a commitment to accuracy and attention to detail. Experience in MRI or Cougar (although not essential) will be highly regarded.
You will enjoy being part of a team who work well together and support each other, as well as being part of something that positively contributes to Brisbane and its residents.
