Located across three locations: Footscray, Dandenong and Bendigo, State Trustees, are the public trustee of Victoria, providing a vital service for more than 49,000 Victorians including more than 11,000 Victorians who, due to mental illness, injury or disability, are unable to independently manage their own financial and/or legal affairs.

The Head of Legal Services role is critical to State Trustee's on-going provision of vital services and crucially responsible for providing empowering leadership to the teams that enhance and protect State Trustees client's financial wellbeing including: client assets; taxation; financial planning; litigation; estate confirmation/ total permanent disability.

As a senior leader within State Trustees, the Head of Legal Services will provide strategic foresight and operational agility coupled with a focus on collaboration, to contribute to the Business Unit and organisation more broadly and in turn to positively impact how State Trustees clients are positioned financially now and into the future.

To ensure success in this role, State Trustees are seeking a contemporary legal professional who has an engaging style and exceptional stakeholder engagement skills. You are known for your focus on collaboration and your deep commitment to customer and community. You demonstrate experience leading large complex teams and are highly regarded for your staff leadership capabilities, particularly your ability to empower and motivate and to instill innovation and continuous improvement into your teams.

Requiring a Degree in Law and a current Victorian Practicing Certificate coupled with experience working in a highly regulated environment, this is a fantastic opportunity for an executive wanting to make a real difference to the Victorian community.
