The Strategy, Planning and Climate Change Division partners with Traditional Owners, community and stakeholders to enable the city and organisation's future to be imagined and realised. The division shapes and delivers a vision for Melbourne as a global city, guiding the next generation of Melbourne's growth to continue to be a bold, inspirational and sustainable city.

Reporting into the Deputy CEO and working closely with the Council, this is a critical executive role for the City of Melbourne. Requiring an inspirational leader who is outward facing and customer focused, the GM will ensure that the City of Melbourne is leading the public policy discussion and is on the cutting edge of Aboriginal recognition, resilience, city and precinct planning, urban planning and development, sustainability, partnerships, advocacy and engagement.

To be considered for this enviable opportunity, you exude emotional intelligence and have proven executive level experience in Local Government; State Government or other large complex, customer-focused organisations. You are a planning expert with experience in renewal projects and precinct renewal and are adept at negotiation and consultation. You are proficient at developing key enterprise strategies and are renowned for your contemporary and creative thinking, political nous and ability to quickly build trust with and to maintain effective, mutually beneficial, stakeholder relationships. You are an exceptional people leader who is well regarded for building dynamic, inclusive and collaborative teams with a focus on achievement and delivery. Furthermore, you have a strong commitment to partnering with Traditional Owners, community and stakeholders to enable your city and organisation's future to be imagined and realised.
