Job Description

The new statutory authority is primarily responsible for the safe navigation of commercial vessels in port waters together with the facilitation of cruise shipping and Tasmanian ferry services at Victoria's premier cruise shipping facility, Station Pier. Employing approximately 70 staff and a turnover of $30 million the organisation has an exciting period ahead as it finalises the transition and builds a solid foundation for future growth.

Reporting into the Executive GM Business Information and Strategy in this newly created senior management role, you will explore potential business opportunities to introduce new products and partnerships to maximize revenue for VPCM. You will provide expert advice to the Board, CEO and senior executive on key strategic and operational matters including the cost of doing business as well as providing business cases to further strengthen VPCM's position in the future.

Along with the strategic leadership and building the capability of your team, the role will focus on key areas including delivering the organisational strategy along with the policy and planning, driving innovation and building relationships with public and private sector partners. Leading a small team your division you will strive to ensure VPCM is out in front identifying commercial opportunities and partnerships that will maximize the revenue to VPCM by the efficient and effective utilisation of assets.

An established executive you bring a diverse range of experience across sectors, having ideally worked in a similar environment somewhere in the past. Strategically minded you thrive on the future orientation of planning, but bring the leadership to be able to translate this into on the ground behaviours and outcomes for the organization.
