Job Description

Victorian Ports Corporation (Melbourne) (VPCM) was established in late 2016 as part of the State Government leasing the port's commercial operations to the private sector. The new statutory authority is primarily responsible for the safe navigation of commercial vessels in port waters together with the facilitation of cruise shipping and Tasmanian ferry services at Victoria's premier cruise shipping facility, Station Pier. Employing approximately 70 staff and a turnover of $30 million the organisation has an exciting period ahead as it finalises the transition and builds a solid foundation for future growth.

Reporting into the Executive General Manager Infrastructure in this newly created role, you will be responsible for project performance and lead the project assurance process for all projects delivered by VPCM. You will provide expert advice to the Board, CEO and senior executive on program delivery strategy, performance monitoring and governance through transparent reporting on the basis of "no surprises" on all issues and implications for projects. With a continuous improvement focus, you will look for opportunities to optimize the organisations spend and target efficiencies in the way that VPCM deliver projects moving forward.

An established executive you bring with you experience in infrastructure project controls, governance, delivery and procurement processes, project reporting and an understanding of the DTF Gateway Review process. Your exceptional project assurance and leadership skills combined with an ability to build and maintain collaborative stakeholder relationships will ensure that you are successful in this role. Finally, you will have great writing skills with demonstrated experience providing detailed project reporting within a government environment.
