Reporting into the Deputy CEO and working closely with the Council, this is a critical executive role for the City of Melbourne. Requiring an inspirational leader who is both inward and outward facing with a strong customer focus, the GM will ensure that the City of Melbourne effectively delivers a range of complex major projects (160+) ensuring disruption is minimized across the City. Furthermore, the GM will enhance and maintain collaboration across the City of Melbourne, driving strategic direction in the design, planning and delivery of capital works for the organisation and the community utilising both internal and external networks.
To be considered for this enviable opportunity, you exude emotional intelligence and have proven executive level experience in Local Government; State Government or other large complex, customer-focused organisations. You bring copious experience in large scale, complex capital program delivery and are adept at negotiation and consultation. You are proficient at strategic project planning and are renowned for your contemporary and creative thinking, political nous and ability to quickly build trust with and to maintain effective, mutually beneficial, stakeholder relationships. You are an exceptional people leader who is well regarded for building dynamic, inclusive and collaborative teams with a focus on achievement and delivery. Furthermore, you have a strong commitment to partnering with Traditional Owners, community and stakeholders to enable your city and organisation's future to be imagined and realised.
