Job Description

Established in 2006, the Summer Foundation exists to resolve the issue of young people living in Residential Aged Care (RAC). Young people with disability have the right to live where, how and with whomever they choose. They deserve to be appropriately and adequately supported to achieve these choices.

This is a problem that could be solved within the next decade.

Our strategy is to influence the evolution of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). We simultaneously influence the systems and markets that surround, support and impact young people with disability living in RAC or those at risk of entering RAC.

Systems change requires collaboration and engagement from all stakeholder groups in the systems we seek to influence. We continually assess our relationship with stakeholders to determine whether leading, partnering with or informing will achieve the greatest systems impact.

Central to our stakeholder engagement are young people with disability and their families. Our stakeholders also include the disability, housing, health and aged care systems across the government, private and community sectors.

Working closely with the CEO, you will develop a clear business model and plan for the successful operation of the Housing Matching social enterprise. This plan will have a strong focus on the scalability of the product and an expansion of impact. You will define Housing Matching as a value proposition and determine what it will be and won't be to ensure clarity of messaging is achieved as well as a strong connection to the purpose is achieved. To successfully grow the Housing Matching enterprise, you are going to need to build a highly capable, competent and committed workforce. You will partner with the Business Manager to ensure new talent recruited into the team meet the needs of the growing enterprise and are a strong cultural match. Finally, you will ensure the long term financial sustainability of the enterprise by building revenue streams that will maintain the business over time.

You have strong experience in building business and social enterprises and have proven your ability to take a prototype/product and scale it to a sustainable level. Experience in property or exposure to housing would be advantageous but the key thing is your passion and innovative mindset. As the GM, you will bring leadership to the Housing Matching enterprise and your style is described by others as inspirational and empowering.
