IPAA Victoria (Institute of Public Administration Australia) is a not for profit professional association, with a 90-year history supporting public purpose professionals across all three levels of government as well as those in the community, tertiary and private sectors who partner with the public sector. IPAA Victoria is a provider of innovative professional development programs and events, administers awards and provides high-level networking opportunities, whilst instilling the values of leadership, innovation, integrity, client focus and continuous improvement.

Reporting to the CEO and as a member of the Executive Management team, the GM Capability Development will lead the delivery of the Program Strategy (2019-2023) aligned with IPAA Victoria's recently-completed Strategic Refresh, and support the current and emerging capability needs across the public purpose sector. Leading a highly valued professional team, the GM Capability Development will identify opportunities for co-design and co-delivery of innovative and exceptional development programs across the membership and the broader public purpose sector. Incorporating best practice and enhancing and innovating ways to deliver learning and development programs, the GM Capability Development will also identify and develop relationships to ensure a sustainable, evidence-based approach to meet future business needs.

As an innovative, empathetic and collaborative leader, the successful candidate will have a high level of knowledge and experience in design, development and delivery of training programs, professional development and career development products to a broad range of stakeholders. With an innovative approach to teaching and learning, knowledge of the public purpose sector and the ability to proactively develop new business opportunities, the GM Capability Development will also be inclusive and passionate about the development of people. Exceptional communication and presentation skills, as well as a strong business acumen will be key to the success of this role. A relevant tertiary qualification in adult learning, human resource management or equivalent will be highly regarded.
