- Opportunity for career challenge and progressions
- Flexibility in location: any of the NSW/ACT PHN officers
- 5 year contract with review
THE NSW/ACT PHN Network was established in 2016 and its members include the 11 PHNs across NSW and ACT. The PHNs improve health outcomes for all across urban, rural and regional NSW and ACT, through the commissioning of health services and by increasing the capability and capacity of primary care. Ensuring patients receive the right care, in the right place at the right time, is the vision for the PHN's and the network.
The Network is collectively led by the PHN CEO's and is chaired by a nominated CEO of the PHNs on an annual rotating basis. The Executive Officer, reporting to the Chair, will support the Network to operate efficiently and will act as a central point of contact and coordination within the Network. This is a key role that engages with all stakeholders to assist the PHN's to progress their collective strategic priorities.
The Executive Officer will provide health care policy and strategic advice on issues impacting the Network PHNs and identify opportunities or issues for consideration for the member group. The EO will also undertake consultation and promote collaboration with key stakeholders, providing a central point of contact and coordination between the Network and external stakeholders (including NSW and ACT Ministries of Health and Australian Department of Health). Working closely with the Chair, the EO will also oversee effective and efficient secretariat function to the NSW/ACT PHNs CEO Network and Council meetings including planning, meeting papers and ensure implementation of actions and outcomes.
As a collaborative and consultative individual, the Executive Officer will have the ability to build strong stakeholder engagement at the executive level and will have a sound knowledge of the primary health care sector and its interface with health systems at the state and federal levels. With proven governance and analytical skills, the EO will have experience in the generation of policy advice and the ability to produce briefs and presentations on behalf of the Chair and Network. The ability to be agile and adapt to the potential changing needs of the environment will be key to the success of this role. A post graduate qualification in Public Health, Health Management or Primary Health Care will be highly desirable. This is an opportunity to work closely with the CEO's of the Network, and to build on your career in the health management space.
