The Department of Housing and Public Works (DHPW) coordinates and delivers a broad range of services and support to Queensland Communities. With a broad portfolio of services they help to drive improvements in access to digital services, healthier and more active communities as well as housing and homelessness assistance to support Queenslanders most in need. DHPW has committed to investing $1.8 billion through its 10 year Queensland Housing Strategy, aimed at delivering more than 5,000 new homes and supporting 450 full-time construction jobs.
As part of this exciting agenda, DHPW is now seeking to recruit an Executive Director, Communication and Engagement to lead a multi-disciplinary team. This executive position will oversee the integrated delivery of media relations (proactive & reactive), and corporate, internal, online and digital communications. It will also include event and change management through the provision of strategic communication, engagement and marketing solutions. This role will provide the opportunity to establish and develop processes to support growth and enable development of a high performing team in a fast paced environment.
To achieve success in this role you will have successfully delivered exceptional outcomes in a complex environment, using your superior leadership and stakeholder management skills. You will introduce innovative ways of driving communication and engagement activities with a positive, energetic and collaborative approach. You will have previous experience across the public and/or private sectors with a proven background in strategy, policy implementation, service delivery and client service. A track record as an agent of change in challenging environments, and in fostering a culture of performance excellence, is a must.
