Baw Baw Shire Council is located approximately one hour east of Melbourne at the gateway to the Gippsland region. Supporting a municipality of more than 48,000 residents, including many small and remote communities, the region is experiencing exponential growth and expects to provide services to more than 70,000 people by 2030. This growth has been spurred on due to the region's close proximity to Melbourne, fantastic schools, affordable housing, snow-fields and world-class hiking and biking tracks.

Reporting to a dynamic and newly appointed CEO, this role forms a key member of Baw Baw Shire Council's innovative executive leadership team. Responsible delivering a corporate strategy that ensures that Council adheres to the legislative, statutory, policy and performance obligations, this role will also undertake a comprehensive view of services and drive organisational changes that address and support Baw Baw Shire's continued growth ensuring that services optimise community outcomes in the Shire. Furthermore the Director will provide authentic, professional and pragmatic leadership to the Strategy and Organisational Performance Directorate, ensuring they lead from the front and support the organisation.
