Baw Baw Shire Council is located approximately one hour east of Melbourne at the gateway to the Gippsland region. Supporting a municipality of more than 48,000 residents, including many small and remote communities, the region is experiencing exponential growth and expects to provide services to more than 70,000 people by 2030. Working closely with a highly respected and dynamic CEO, the role forms a key part of the executive leadership team bringing the Baw Baw vision, community and Council Plan into reality. Success will be achieved through optimising the services offered within this division, with more efficient and cohesive systems, clear performance measures, greater connection to customers and a more sophisticated approach to doing business. With a focus on people, the role will have a remit of building a high performing team and making a positive cultural contribution that filters from the top down. Externally this position will build a strong reputation of management, drive business development opportunities and investment and continue to nurture the trust between Councillors, the organisation and the Baw Baw Shire community.
