We are seeking to appoint a dynamic executive who will jointly engage in leading our changing business so we adapt, evolve and remain purposeful for our residents, our community and our City.

Reporting to the CEO, you will form an integral member of the executive leadership team and aid council's commitment to social, environmental and economic sustainability of the City. You will provide strategic leadership to a directorate team of 150 people and be a steward of our organisation's cultural aspirations. You will support the CEO and Councillors in advocacy, particularly with State and Federal Government, the community and local businesses. With a $113 million capital budget for the coming financial year, you will lead the Directorate which oversees sustainable infrastructure, operations, community infrastructure and major initiatives. Furthermore, you will build trusted relationships with, and provide strategic advice to, the elected officials (Councillors).

To be considered for this enviable opportunity, you will be a proven executive leader who has managed a large complex portfolio and who has delivered large capital projects within local government or the broader public or community sectors. You are known as a contemporary and innovative thinker and a collaborative contributor to the executive leadership team. You are politically astute and demonstrate exceptional stakeholder engagement skills with a proven ability to engage with your community, state and federal government officials and your Board / Councillors. You are adept at strategic and business planning and you are financially astute. You are highly regarded for your inspirational staff leadership and ability to enhance culture while driving continuous improvement through contemporary technology, systems and processes. Tertiary qualifications in engineering would be highly desirable but not mandatory.
