Moonee Valley City Council is seeking dynamic, contemporary people-leaders to support the vision of MV2040. Located in the inner north-western suburbs of Melbourne, Moonee Valley is a welcoming, culturally diverse and inclusive city, host to many beautiful parks and reserves, thriving shopping strips and vibrant arts venues. Following an extensive organisational review, we are realigning how we work to deliver for our community. We are implementing a leadership model which serves the organisation and community from the perspectives of three key functions: Think, Do and Enable. The grouping of roles and responsibilities in the three functional areas will ensure clear decision-making lines, reduced silos and enhanced organisational performance to improve community outcomes.

Director Enabling Services - Moonee Valley City Council

  • This Directorate will support and enable the organisation to achieve exceptional customer and community experience and to deliver the best economic, social and cultural outcomes.
  • This will be achieved by taking accountability for a range of enabling functions including Finance, IT, Transformation, People & Culture, Enterprise Project Management Office & Accountability and City Safety & Amenity.

Reporting to the newly appointed CEO you will form a critical part of the new executive team and hold a dual focus; whole of organisational leadership and setting a clear direction for the division to continue delivering on Council's vision and plans. This is an outstanding opportunity to work closely with an ambitious and driven CEO to provide the Council with the best quality advice to help it make optimal decisions and make a real difference to the community.

To be successful in this role, you will have proven executive experience in the development of key strategies and policies that deliver efficient and effective programs and services to the community. You are recognised for your contemporary and creative thinking, political nous, and ability to form and maintain credible relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally. This role will enhance and extend relationships with the Victorian and Commonwealth Governments and create opportunities to partner with industry and private sector to deliver outcomes for the community. You are an exceptional people-leader who is well regarded for building dynamic, inclusive and collaborative teams with an absolute focus on achievement and delivery.

We are seeking a values-driven people leader to support and enable the organisation to achieve an exceptional customer and community experience. You have the ability to influence, advocate and build strong, diverse stakeholder relationships both internally and externally. As a strategic leader and trusted advisor to the CEO, you will bring experience in developing the next generation of leaders in a high-performing multidisciplinary environment, where the focus is on quality. Along with strategic leadership and building the capability and culture of the organisation, the role will focus on the establishment of an enterprise project management office (EPMO), identifying and leading continuous improvement initiatives, as well as the overall delivery and management of services to the organisation.
