Local Government NSW (LGNSW) is the peak organisation that represents the interests of NSW Councils. LGNSW aims to strengthen and protect an effective, democratic system of local government across NSW by supporting and advocating on behalf of member councils and delivering a range of relevant, quality services to add value to councils.
Reporting to an elected President and Board, the role presents a unique opportunity to lead a member based organisation and oversee its commercial ventures. In this role you will show visionary integrated strategic thinking and focus to achieve outcomes for members. You will succeed by building a strong organisational culture that is encouraging, innovative, agile and member centric.
You will be responsible for working with the President to position the organisation as a valued stakeholder that is actively consulted by the Government. In addition, you will grow own source revenue and build member focus with two way engagement to enhance member value.
To be successful in this role you will have senior executive experience, ideally in a public sector or member based organisation and hold relevant tertiary qualifications. You will have an energetic style and be a future focused leader with a strong ethical drive for the public good. In addition, you possess strong emotional intelligence and are experienced at developing high performing organisational cultures. It's also important that you understand the political environment and be experienced in navigating it whilst maintaining absolute political neutrality.
