Mildura Rural City Council, is the largest local government authority in the state of Victoria servicing more than 55,700 people. Bordered by the Murray River, the region is home to a diverse agricultural sector and a vibrant community and is renowned as a popular tourist destination. Mildura Rural City, home to council offices, is a bustling city featuring wide, tree-lined streets and set on the banks of the magnificent Murray River. With all the amenities of a capital city and more, living and working in Mildura Rural City is an enviable lifestyle and only 400 kilometres north-east of Adelaide, 550 kilometres north-west of Melbourne and 1080kms west of Sydney.
Reporting to and working closely with a progressive, collaborative and community focused Council, your role as the CEO will be extremely high profile and impactful in delivering best practice community outcomes. You will truly establish and embed yourself within the Mildura municipality, forging collaborative relationships and partnerships with diverse stakeholder groups.
Providing support to the Mayor and Councillors to assist them in their role and to draw on their expertise, you will also be charged with strategically oversighting and implementing the Council Plan and associated Operational Business Plans with a focus on cultural and economic sustainability, efficiency gains and community results. You will provide your passionate council staff with strategic and empowering leadership to generate enhancements to culture.
To be considered as the next CEO for Mildura Rural City Council, you will be naturally entrepreneurial, innovative and future focused and while advantageous, you don't need to come from a Local Government background but you do need to be passionate about impacting lasting change for your community.
You are a contemporary and engaging executive leader who recognised for your strategic, results orientated approach and you hold formidable financial and governance skills and political nous. Your engaging style and interpersonal skills allow you to quickly form credible and respectful relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders across the municipality and beyond; with your councillor group and you are known for your capacity to engage, empower and build high performing teams.
