Job Description

  • Develop & Implement a New Strategic Plan
  • Be Part of an Olympic Sport with a Highly Engaged Community
  • Report to an Ambitious and Positive Board

Gymnastics Victoria (GV) is the State Sporting Association for gymnastics in Victoria, supporting over 400,000 participants and more than 60,000 members across 127 clubs, with a proud history of contributing to recreational and high performance gymnastics throughout the state. As the peak body for one of the fastest growing major participation sports in Victoria, and closely affiliated with Gymnastics Australia and the International Federation of Gymnastics (FIG), Gymnastics Victoria provides sporting pathways in local community clubs through to the elite levels of the Olympic Games and World Championships.

Reporting to, and working closely with, an ambitious GV Board, the CEO will contribute to the development and ultimate implementation of the new 2021-24 Strategic Plan for Gymnastics Victoria. Ensuring the organisation is well positioned to deliver on the new plan, there will be an opportunity to review the current operating model. The role will continue to strengthen the organisation through membership growth, internal capability development and strong stakeholder engagement across government, commercial partners and the broader gymnastics community. Working with partner organisations, the CEO will also ensure long term sustainability and opportunities to diversify income streams in line with the strategic priorities.

This is a great opportunity for a collaborative, authentic leader who is driven to support the continued development of gymnastics across Victoria. With proven executive experience, you will have a background or strong knowledge of sport at the state level, as well as experience working with state government and funding bodies. Strengths in change management and the ability to inspire and take people along on the journey through the next strategic plan will also be key to the success of this role. This is an opportunity to join an organisation with a strong financial position, a highly engaged community, a supportive Board and an environment that is complex and diverse.
