The Northern Territory's cultural and geographic diversity, size and complexity is both a challenge and an opportunity in the delivery of fi t-for-purpose government policy and services. The population of the Territory is diverse and spread across both city, regional and remote communities. The Government plays a critical role in building stronger communities and supporting the delivery of services across the regions.
With a workforce of around 1,500 the Department of Attorney-General and Justice leads delivery of legal, regulatory, justice and custodial and community based correctional services and ensures the delivery of the Government's justice portfolio priorities.
About the Role
The Chief Executive Officer acts as a steward across the broader public service as well as the delivery of law and legal policy advice to government, custodian and community based services. The Chief Executive Officer is also the Solicitor for the Northern Territory.
This is an opportunity for an experienced legal practitioner and people leader with proven high-level executive experience and capability to contribute to an effective and cohesive public service by building partnerships across agencies delivering key outcomes benefiting all Territorians.
You will have a passion for delivering public services that improve the lives and wellbeing of your community.
You will partner as a member of the Chief Executive Officer Coordination Committee to ensure stewardship and effective governance of the Northern Territory public sector.
