Resources Safety and Health Queensland (RSHQ) is an independent statutory body responsible for regulating safety and health across Queensland's coal mines, mineral mines and quarries, explosives, and petroleum and gas resources industries. Further, RSHQ will deliver safety and health services, including research, testing, training and emergency response.
The Chief Executive Officer will be accountable for administering the Resources Safety Acts and furthering their purposes to ensure the safety and health of Queensland's resources workers.
The scale, scope and challenges presented by this role provide an opportunity for a proven leader to drive government's responsibility for the delivery of key services and initiatives to enhance the safety and health outcomes across the Queensland resources industries and its communities. Your demonstrated ability to lead a large, specialised team, partner across a large stakeholder network and deliver contemporary leadership, frameworks and systems will be key to achieving success in this role. Proven drive and capacity to respond rapidly and effectively, including in the delivery of legislative reform, is essential.
To be eligible for appointment you must have a professional qualification relevant to the resources industry, and high level professional experience/leadership in the resources sector.
