Bendigo Kangan Institute (BKI) is one of the largest TAFEs in Victoria with ten campuses stretching from Cremorne to Echuca. It supports over 35,000 students each year and employs more than 1,500 staff. One of the first steps in this journey is the implementation of a newly aligned structure and appointment of the new executive team to lead this change.

As the Board Secretary, you will ensure the Board operates effectively and in accordance with its legislated powers, duties and responsibilities. This position reports to the Executive Manager to the CEO, as well as independently to and receive instruction from the Board Chair and the CEO on matters relating to activities of the Board. Your key responsibilities will cover governance and reporting, compliance, and all standard Board Secretary duties (Board operations, coordination and review of Board and Committee papers, administration of the Board portal, and coordination of key Board events).

As a qualified Company/Board Secretary you will bring significant experience in corporate governance administration and practices. With exceptional written and verbal communication skills, you have an ability to influence to drive outcomes. Demonstrated evidence of high standards of ethical conduct, you will demonstrate experience coordinating end-to-end Board activity and aligning Board and Executive work programs to ensure best practice governance, including providing advice and guidance to staff on Board engagement. Sound knowledge of the education and TAFE system would be desirable but not essential.
