This council is located just over an hour south-east of Melbourne.  Surrounded by unique and picturesque coastline to the west and beautiful hinterland to the east, this shire council is well known as an idyllic location, for its major sporting events and commitment to environmental sustainability. Reported as having one of the highest population growth rates in Victoria, the municipality is projected to have a population of 45,000 people by 2031.  With an ambitious, regional Council and a vision to be recognised as a place of environmental significance where quality of life and community is balanced by sustainable and sensitive development,Council is looking for a vibrant leader to take on the role of Coordinator Development Services to lead the Development Services  team.

Working with and supporting the Manager Strategy and Growth, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers and coordinating the provision of functions including Engineering Plan Checking and Subdivision Surveillance for Council.
You will be expected to:
  • Lead the review of policy and controls and strategic frameworks as required to deliver sound infrastructure provision in a timely manner
  • Lead the team with the planning, protection and provision of Council’s infrastructure management through the subdivision process.
  • Oversee the provision of a comprehensive, efficient and robust subdivision plan checking service
Your solid background in civil engineering, coupled with your ability to lead and mentor staff will be paramount in helping you succeed in this role.

  • A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering with relevant experience or a lesser formal qualification with extensive and diverse experience. 
  • Post graduate studies in business, financial management or related discipline. 
  • Extensive and diverse experience in both operational areas and management. 
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities with proven senior management achievement developed within a relevant multi-disciplined environment.
