As a precinct spanning 40 hectares, Melbourne & Olympic Parks has grown and evolved significantly over 100 years to cater for Victoria’s passion for sport and entertainment, boasting world class venues such as Rod Laver Arena, AAMI Park, Margaret Court Arena and Melbourne Arena and many more that can transform to meet the needs of a variety of events and audiences year-round.
The precinct welcomes more than 2.5 million people annually, notably hosting the Australian Open and the city’s most celebrated national and international, sports and entertainment events. It is home to ten national sporting teams, upwards of 900 community activities and 470 contracted days across its venues each year.
Reporting to the Senior Manager Governance and Compliance, this newly created role of Procurement Manager requires an engaging, articulate and experienced Procurement Manager to enhance the maturity and perception of the M&OP procurement function. The initial framework, policy and procedural documentation will be well underway to being established, so the Procurement Manager will take a critical role in ensuring this is adopted by the organisation and viewed as a valuable and enabling function. This will require exceptional stakeholder engagement skills to elevate the prominence of procurement activities and to support the business in more effective use of procurement practices. Furthermore the Procurement Manager will adopt contemporary approaches to procurement including (but not limited to) demand aggregation and strategic sourcing through procurement pipelines.
A highly regarded procurement professional, you bring a proven background in leading contemporary procurement practices. You demonstrate strategic foresight coupled with operational agility and you are renowned for your stakeholder engagement capabilities including the ability to articulate the value of procurement one on one and through various forums and workshops. Furthermore, you are an exceptional team player and who models M&OP’s values of collaboration, integrity, open mindedness and passion.
