About the Role
Reporting to the Deputy Secretary Network Planning, the Executive Director Transport Assets will understand and maximise the capacity of the existing network, plan for future needs and work towards creating a more integrated transport network that delivers better outcomes for all users. Leading a medium sized team with accountability for a whole of life asset management approach to the State’s transport network, you will promote a culture that drives innovation and is focused on maximising value for the organisation and community. Key deliverables will include the delivery of a whole-of-transport sustainable asset management strategy and asset plans, the development of a framework for DoT Asset Condition, Investment and Modelling Project, and ensuring investment in high risk transport assets to future-proof the network needs. The Transport Assets team is responsible for developing asset strategies across the network including the whole-of-government Transport Asset Strategy and plans for new assets and renewal, including investment prioritization.
 
About You
Critical to the success in this role will be the Executive Director, Transport Assets’ ability to  build strong links with other divisions within DoT including the Policy and Innovation, Transport Services, Investment and Technology and Network Integration divisions and with external customers including MTIA, other agencies and government departments. You bring extensive experience in leading an asset management function from a whole of life perspective in a large complex organisation. You have experience in developing business cases for asset maintenance investments and are well regarded for providing direction and advice to executive teams. You possess an engaging interpersonal style, the ability to build strong rapport and you are committed to enhancing relationships with the Senior Executives, Contractors and key government stakeholders.
