Job Description
Your role’s key responsibilities:
- Oversee, support and guide designers embedded in scrum teams
- Ensure design thinking methodologies are at the heart of the team's work
- Ensure planning, execution and delivery of design work meet business expectations and priorities
- Recruit, onboard, manage and grow talents
- Work closely with the business to shape collaboratively the vision of our product and service experiences
- Ensure design choices made by the team scale and fit within larger established systems and within the future of our products and services
- Build and maintain stakeholder relationship, momentum and buy-in
- Work closely with Product Managers, Product Owners and Scrum Masters to constantly improve ways of working and ultimately the quality of our product & service delivery
- Work closely with Design Manager and other Design Leads to improve the whole Experience Design team efficiencies: operational alignment and synergies, shared learnings, consistent artefact format, design walls, etc.
- Define HCD success measures and evaluate the team ROI
- Hands on design thinking activities and initiatives - balance when to delegate and when to dive in - up to 50% of capacity
- Evangelise and educate the business around customers and Human Centred Design
- Represent our client and the Experience Design team externally e.g. events, podcasts, etc.
- Ensure the team breathes the Experience Design team values, mission statement and design framework
To be successful, you will have:
- 3+ years of professional experience in a Human Centred Design role
- 3 to 5 years of experience leading teams
- 2+ years of Lean UX experience working with Agile teams
- Strong emotional intelligence. Knowing how to build and maintain relationships is a key success factor for this role
- Able to simplify, to cut through the noise, to understand what’s important, communicate and inspire that clarity in others
- Self-motivated, positive and proactive attitude
- Exceptional verbal, written communication and storytelling skills
- Good influencing skills
- Keep up to date with latest Design trends, tools and methods
- Experience in managing other designers is a plus
- Masters or PhD degree in Behavioural Science, Human Factors, Anthropology or Psychology is a plus
