Liverpool Plains Shire Council are seeking an Executive Manager Finance for an initial three (3) month contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a council committed to serving its community and  providing an array of first-rate services.

Liverpool Plains Shire is a vibrant and economically strong rural area located just 45 minutes south of the regional centre of Tamworth and four hours north of Sydney.The region has a rich agricultural history and picturesque beauty encompassing the foothills of the Great Dividing Range and the sweeping expanse of the fertile Liverpool Plains. The area offers the opportunity for a true rural lifestyle in a friendly atmosphere with excellent transport links.

Serving a population of around 8,000 residents, Liverpool Plains Shire Council has an annual budget of approximately $25m and a staff of 132.

The role of interim Executive Finance Manager will be to manage the development and implementation of the Council’s financial Plan as well as to manage, coordinate and monitor the allocation and utilisation of Council’s financial resources. Additionally, the role will provide financial advisory services to all departments in relation to financial management policies and procedures including meeting the requirements of the Local Government Act 1993, Local Government Reporting Regulation, Accounting Standards and Council policies.

As part of the Operational Leadership Team, it is expected that this role will positively contribute to shaping and the positive organisational culture at Liverpool Plains Council.
To be successful in this role it is expected that the successful applicant will have relevant tertiary qualifications in accounting, business management or a related field and be able to demonstrate requisite experience in a similar position. Although not essential, CA/CPA accreditation would be looked upon favourably.
