About the Role
The Executive Director, Road Safety Victoria will be an integral part of the Network Planning leadership team and will report to (and provide high-level authoritative advice to) the Deputy Secretary, Network Planning & Office of Head of Road Safety.
The Executive Director Road Safety Victoria, is a critical leadership role, responsible for supporting Government to develop the next road safety strategy and coordinating key stakeholder partnerships (including Victoria Police, the Transport Accident Commission, VicRoads, the Department of Transport, the Department of Justice and Regulation and the Department of Health and Human Services) to ensure road safety is a priority and that Victoria’s road toll is significantly reduced.
Furthermore, the Executive Director will provide outstanding people leadership to their newly combined team to ensure they are delivering on their accountabilities and working in collaboration across the whole of the department.
DoT are seeking an executive leader who has experience working within the public sector and who has an interest in injury prevention and / or delivering social outcomes to their community. You will have extensive experience providing authoritative and concise advice to senior stakeholders coupled with strong influencing and negotiation skills. A strategic and tactical mind-set will also be key to ensuring you get buy-in from the various stakeholder groups. A proven record of strategy development, policy and planning in a large complex organisation is highly desirable. Furthermore you will be a respected leader who has experience developing and motivating teams to high performance.
