About the Company
Davidson are a preferred supplier for the government sector and have strong partnerships within local, state and federal government.  We have a number of upcoming opportunities within Queensland Government across key departments. We are looking for reliable and Learning & Development Officer who is available immediately.

About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of QLD’s leading government departments for a temporary assignment until the New Year. This opportunity is best suited to a confident and team orientated Learning & Development Officer. Exposure to local, federal or government is essential for you to succeed in this role. You will be supported by your peers through you transition and will be required to pick the duties up quickly.  This is based in Brisbane CBD close to public transport.  

Responsibilities:
  • Provide advice on implementation strategies to the Manager Learning Design and Development and Director Learning and Professional Development for consideration
  • Liaise with both internal and external stakeholders to deliver appropriate advice on budgets and reporting framework
  •  Develop and implement plans, policies, strategies and other deliverables
  • Develop strategies for policy development and compliance accountabilities consistent with the organisational direction and departmental strategies
  • Prepare submissions, briefs, reports and correspondence of a complex nature relating to the planning, coordination and implementation of learning and professional development projects and activities
  • Ensure departmental standards are met in regards to legislation, government policies and the Australian Accounting Standards
  • Support the Director or General Manager in meetings and at forums where appropriate
  • Assist with financial accounting audit
  • Manage the financial aspects of the annual review of fees and charges
  • Lead and manage processes required to partner with internal service providers and/or external organisations to support the design and development of programs as required
  •  Undertake related and other duties of equivalent complexity as required
About You
  • Significant instructional design experience, preferably in a senior or lead role
  • Ability to actively and collaboratively engage with and work with a range of stakeholders to ensure different perspectives are considered when generating and responding to policy
  • Written and verbal communication is clear and concise
  • Strong and open communication skills, including confidence in presenting factual material
  • Actively and attentively listens to others
  • Possess a high level of attention to detail
  • Strong and effective communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Ability to think outside the box
  • Use analysis, experience and judgement to make informed decisions, including impact of implemented policy
