Occupying a key leadership role in the Australian disability sector, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will lead National Disability Services during a period of significant change. Reporting to the Board, the CEO will understand the importance of a sustainable disability sector and will drive robust national representation of NDS during this critically important time.
Representing key priorities to government, and providing leadership and support to members, the Chief Executive Officer will have a demonstrated capability to exercise strategic influence on the issues of importance to the disability sector. An analytical thinker, pragmatic and influential, s/he will have a demonstrated history of successfully managing and influencing positive change.
The appointee will successfully engage and manage a diverse range of stakeholders in a geographically dispersed environment. You will present with a highly communicative and engaging style, with a demonstrated history of working with government agencies, political leaders, other stakeholders and the media.
Key areas of focus include:
- Driving high-level influence on issues of importance to the disability sector;
- Maintaining a strong public profile through engagement with stakeholders and the community;
- Organisational and staff development in a time of change;
- Strong strategic focus and operational implementation; and
- Sound financial management.
You will also have had success in a leadership role in a large multi-faceted organisation leading business transformation, as well as influencing external and internal change.
Relevant tertiary qualifications are mandatory or substantial (demonstrated) equivalent experience is essential.
