This organisation is rapidly growing and they need a Project Manager with construction experience to come on board on a full time, contract basis to help with this busy period.
The contract is initially 6 months but will inevitably be extended beyond that.

About the Role
You will be expected to-
  • Support the Capital Works Coordinator in program management of council's suite of capital projects
  • Support with the planning, development, programming, design, construction and handover of those projects
  • Comply with council policies relating to these capital projects
  • Ensure assigned projects are delivered on time, within budget and in accordance with the approved business case
  • Provide regular reports to the Project Owner and Project Control Group and manage all aspects of the Project Working Group for assigned projects
  • Provide best possible customer service to both internal and external stakeholders 

About You
You will have-
  • A well developed knowledge and working application of a range of relevant IT software packages such as PM, financial, MS Office, GIS and document control packages
  • A drive to improve and develop methods of project management
  • The ability to adapt, as the delivery of project techniques may be based on newly emerging trends rather than previous experience
  • Excellent written skills, relating to the generation of letters, reports, memos and council reports
  • A knowledge and application of project management relating to the delivery and administration of capital projects in local government infrastructure
  • Strong management skills allowing you to establish productive relationships with other service units within council 
  • The ability to manage your own time, establish priorities whilst contributing to team goals, projects and programs
  • A well developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skill set with the ability to gain co-operation and assistance from other staff and stakeholders

Qualifications and Experiences

  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering, building, project management or equivalent, or extensive and proven technical expertise and experience in all aspects of project management, contract and tender administration
  • Extensive experience in project and contract management, negotiation and dispute resolution
  • Proven experience in the implementation of capital works programs particularly as they relate to local government infrastructure assets
  • Experience in working with and contributing to multi-tasked team outcomes and wok environment
  • A current Victorian driver's licence
