Works Supervisor / Site Engineer

This regional council will play a pivotal role in supporting a number of huge growth projects in the shire with over $300 million being spent in construction, the state’s first special activation precinct development, and the new National Logistics hub all being positioned within the region. They are responsible for carrying out the various upgrades to access roads, water, power, gas, technology and communications infrastructure, all of which are vital to facilitate and support future developments and investment within the Hub precinct. 
The Role

Your role will primarily focus on leading and coordinating the contractors and civil works for councils road construction projects. Additional responsibilities are:
  • Enforce operational compliance with all on-site activities according to relevant legislation
  • Lead and supervise a multi skilled team on site
  • Supervise and inspect works undertaken by contractors
  • Meeting deadlines, monitoring budgets and controlling expenditure and report on project status
  • Contract administration of the roads maintenance contract with RMS

What we are looking for

To be successful in this role previous experience roads construction and maintenance is essential, in combination with proven experience managing contractors and working under/managing a maintenance contract with RMS for a local council.
