Job Description

  • Senior leadership role reporting to the Managing Director
  • Drive a proactive safety culture across the organisation
  • Flexible work arrangements & benefits of regional living in Ballarat
Central Highlands Water (CHW) is a leading regional water corporation based in Ballarat, delivering high quality water, waste water and recycled water to more than 140,000 people. CHW provides fully integrated water services, in a true “catchment-to-tap-to-catchment” approach. The organisation is currently seeking to employ a high performing people leader who will be responsible for driving innovation and efficiencies across the capital works programs to enhance customer value.
At CHW “Safety is Everybody’s Priority” and the organization is committed to the safety of their people, customers and the community. Following a recent Safety Culture review, the organization is looking for a Senior Safety Lead to develop a clear pathway that takes CHW from a calculative culture to a proactive/generative organisation
Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be supported by the executive team to lead a holistic change process across the organisation and actively influence CHW’s approach to safety. This will include re-design and delivery of safety programs and initiatives that contribute towards CHW’s agreed strategic direction and priorities with a strong focus internally, with CHW contractors and consultants. A critical part of this role is to develop and drive strategy while having a clear focus on long term continuous improvement.
You bring proven experience managing safety and leading cultural change at a senior level within complex environments. Your formal qualifications in safety or related fields will enable you to ensure the organisation remains compliant with its Corporate and Statutory Health & Safety (OH&S) obligations. With a mix of operational and strategic experience, you will have demonstrated experience coaching organisational leaders to support and implement change. You bring a level of passion about the critical work you do and your professionalism will be the cornerstone of helping Central Highlands Water achieve ongoing success.
Central Highlands Water is proud to be an inclusive and equal opportunity employer, and offers a range of flexible work arrangements and people of all abilities and backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
