Job Description

The Office of Industrial Relations is a key contributor to the government’s strategic objectives in the areas of work health and safety, electrical safety, workers’ compensation, industrial relations and labour hire regulation. In partnership with stakeholders, they strive to achieve the lowest rate of work-related and electrical fatality, injury and disease in the nation, improved workers’ compensation regulatory services and a fair industrial relations framework in Queensland. 

Working to achieve the vision of safer and healthier Queensland workplaces the Executive Director will be accountable for leading the strategic direction of the planning, development and implementation of government priorities.

The role leads a team of professionals from disciplines across policy, data analysts, legal, work and electrical safety and communications.

The scale, scope and challenges presented by this portfolio provides an opportunity for a future-focused policy leader to empower a determined internal and external stakeholder group to continue to drive improved outcomes. Your proven ability to strategically lead large teams, partner with government and industry as well as deliver contemporary practices, policies and systems will be key to achieving success in this role.
