About the Company
Davidson are a preferred supplier for the government sector and have strong partnerships within local, state and federal government.  We have a number of upcoming opportunities within Queensland Government across key departments. We are looking for reliable and professional market transaction officers who are available immediately.

About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of QLD’s leading government departments for a temporary assignment until June 2020, with the possibility of extension. This opportunity is best suited to a confident and team orientated Principal Policy Officer. Exposure to local, federal or government is essential for you to succeed in this role. You will be supported by your peers through you transition and will be required to pick the duties up quickly.  This is based in Brisbane CBD close to public transport.  

  • High volume data management into multiple internal systems
  • Liaise with both internal and external stakeholders to deliver appropriate advice on budgets and reporting framework
  •  Develop and implement plans, policies, strategies and other deliverables
  • Develop strategies for policy development and compliance accountabilities consistent with the organisational direction and departmental strategies
  • Month end reconciliations of general ledgers
  • Ensure departmental standards are met in regards to legislation, government policies and the Australian Accounting Standards
  • Support the Director or General Manager in meetings and at forums where appropriate
  • Assist with financial accounting audit
  • Manage the financial aspects of the annual review of fees and charges
  • Review all policies and practices to identify improvement opportunities
  • Undertake related and other duties of equivalent complexity as required

  • Use analysis, experience and judgement to make informed decisions, including impact of implemented policy
