South Gippsland Water (SGW) is a proactive service provider responsible for water and wastewater service provision for over 30,600 customers. We aim to contribute to economic development and provide environmentally sustainable water and wastewater services, in a way that benefits our customers and the wider community in the Region. With a corporate office in Foster, the organisation is seeking a Manager Safety who will support their diverse workforce which includes corporate and field-based employees made up of customer service, technical, maintenance and treatment operations staff across the region.
Reporting to the Managing Director, this role is pivotal in leading a safety culture improvement program that will embed South Gippsland Water’s safety vision into all facets of operations. You will pro-actively partner with line managers and employees across a diverse range of water and waste water treatment facilities, field-based plant and equipment, corporate offices and depots, to deliver the Safety Improvement Plan.
Your extensive experience in strategic and operational safety in complex industries will underpin your ability to drive positive change in the business and drive excellence in performance at all levels. The role will focus on working with leaders in the business to educate, influence and enable them to implement change across the organisation. You will continue the good work already in place to identify opportunities for improvement and maintain strong OH&S reporting standards. You possess an engaging interpersonal style, the ability to build strong rapport and a commitment to building relationships with various stakeholders including staff, contractors and customers.
