The Department of Natural Resources, Mines and Energy has a lead role in managing the sustainable use of Queensland’s resources to support the community and economy into the future. Focusing on making the best use of Queensland renewable and non-renewable land, water, mineral and energy resources the Department continues to work across the community and industry. With this ongoing commitment, the Department continues high quality strategic advice and analysis to the state government as well as look to influence public policy at a national level. As part of this they are seeking to appoint a dedicated professional to spearhead their approach within the Georesources portfolio.
 
The Executive Director, Georesources Policy will lead the development of policy, strategies and legislation working to balance stakeholder and government priorities. The role will work to ensure an improved client experience and deliver simpler and accessible government services for landholders, industry and the community.
 
To be successful you will have proven strong professional leadership and management capabilities from within the resources industry as well as strong experience in delivering public policy on behalf of government. Proven policy development, stakeholder engagement and an exposure to the east coast gas market are crucial to success in this position.
