The Melbourne Zoo, the oldest Zoo in Australia, is located in the beautiful leafy Parkville area and welcomes approximately 1.3 million visitors per year.
As the Manager Visitor Commercial and Events, Melbourne Zoo, you will deliver visitor growth through bringing programs to the zoo through effective business development activities and sourcing potential events and activations that align with the vision and values of Zoos Victoria.
You will enhance revenue through onsite sales of experiences and products and bring a commercial mind to leverage opportunities for greater outcomes to be achieved that also improve the customer experience.
Overseeing the masterplan for Melbourne Zoo, you will ensure that various projects within the masterplan are effectively designed, developed and delivered that contribute to the longer term sustainability and success of the zoo.
Additionally, you will lead the shift in the culture of the workforce to one where possibilities are explored for viability and an openness to new approaches is embraced.
To be successful in this role you will have strong experience in leading staff and developing an empowered workforce. You have a commercial savviness that has seen you expand results for the organisations you have worked for. You have established program and project management skills and the ability to effectively source, assess and deliver events and activations. Bringing a natural partnering approach to the way you work, you collaborate and build relationships quickly that yield benefits for both parties.
