The Energy Group
DELWP is working with the energy sector and the Victorian community to develop a secure and sustainable energy future for Victoria. Delivering on Victorian Government commitments, DELWP is striving for all Victorians to be able to access energy that is affordable, reliable and more sustainable. To ensure Victoria is at the forefront of the Energy sector’s significant transformation, DELWP has formed a dedicated Energy Group, led by Anthea Harris, Deputy Secretary, Energy. The Group’s primary responsibility is to support current and future energy projects, programs and reforms. The Group consists of four divisions working collaboratively to enable the strategic work required to take place and set the Department up to undertake major energy transformations whilst continuing to deliver on existing priorities.
Reporting to the Executive Director, Energy Strategy, this newly created role will immediately focus on the development of the Distributed Energy Resources (DER) Strategy. This will include oversight and leadership of the strategic analysis and design of options for inclusion in the strategy to ensure that Victorians benefit from the increasing uptake of distributed energy resources. The role will also be working closely with the Energy Group’s executive team to identify emerging policy issues for the sector and ensure that the team is best positioned to respond and develop strategies to meet these challenges.
The Ideal Profile
To be successful, you will ideally have proven experience in the public sector formulating policy and regulation that has impacted economic development. You have strong leadership skills and your collaborative approach to working with stakeholders is considered as one of your key strengths. You appreciate the political environment in which this role operates and are confident in interacting with Ministers and their offices, providing high level policy advice.
