Goulburn-Murray Water’s (GMW) role in delivering reliable, affordable water drives the regional economy and underpins its collective prosperity. The Goulburn-Murray Irrigation District (GMID) in northern Victoria is the irrigation powerhouse of Australia supporting the world’s best farmers. With such an array of opportunities, comes the challenge to ensure GMW continues to be fit-for-purpose and future ready. It is because of this GMW is on the verge of a new era. We are looking for the right executive team to reshape the organisation to ensure the next 100 years of regional prosperity in the GMID.

Reporting to the Managing Director, the GM People, Culture and Safety will drive exceptional performance through fostering a high performance culture and leading organisational change. The appointee will develop and implement the People, Culture and Safety Strategy ensuring a safe, inspiring and diverse workplace where learning is encouraged and people are supported. The incumbent will lead organisational culture initiatives, programs and leadership development, fostering collaboration and teamwork. The division will focus on working with the business to ensure GMW have a learning culture where people are engaged, inspired and supported to take on existing and emerging challenges. Leadership is the greatest attribute for an organisation, but its people are the greatest asset and will be treated as such.
With tertiary qualifications in human resources, business administration or a related field, you will have experience leading transformation in complex organisations. Proven ability to lead the development and implementation of complex and sensitive projects together with your creative mindset and the ability to lead, manage and motivate employees to their full potential, will ensure you deliver successfully.  Your extensive experience in strategic, tactical and operational work related to People, Culture and Safety will underpin your ability to drive positive change in the business and drive excellence in performance.
