The Company

Davidson is delighted to be partnering with Goldwind, one of the world's leading wind power companies in their search for an Installation and Commissioning Supervisor. In China Goldwind are the largest player in the wind industry and have a presence on six continents globally. By 2015, Goldwind was the world's number one wind turbine manufacturer by newly installed generation capacity. They are now in the process of recruiting two Installation and Commissioning Supervisors for their Wind Farms, based close to Ballan and Ballarat respectively.

The Role

  • The Installation and Commissioning Supervisor is accountable for the supervision of Goldwind Australia’s project wind turbine installation and on-site logistics operations. Support to project site teams doing the project execution is a natural extension of the role.
  • Manage installation QA documentation where required.
  • Manage installation and logistic subcontractors.
  • Undertake the role of site team leader when required.
  • Guide and supervise the team in following Australian HSE working requirements.
  • Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Motivate and align work groups to achieve the project objective.
  • Supervise installation and logistic interfaces.
The Person
  • Previous windfarm experience.
  • Qualifications in an electrical or mechanical trade
  • Knowledge of cranes and lifting operations
  • Tertiary qualifications in a related technical field
  • OEM training in erection of wind turbines
  • OHS Construction White Card
  • WHS Supervisor Training
  • First Aid
  • Working at Heights
  • Lift Use Training
  • Defensive Driver Training
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Negotiation skills and ability to relate to diverse stakeholder groups
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise accordingly;
  • Good knowledge of construction site practices applicable legislation and site management systems;
  • Ability to work effectively in an International/China cross cultural environment.
