The role
Reporting to the CEO, the role of the Executive Director, Education & Student Retention is charged with developing and implementing innovative strategies that address student retention in a manner that is responsive to changing student, industry and community needs now and into the future. The Executive Director Education will be responsible for ensuring that GOTAFE provides the best possible education, training and learning experiences for all student cohorts across all education sectors (including vocational education and training and VCAL). The role will design and implement a contemporary, future-focused agile education strategy; education agenda and curriculum for GOTAFE, based on data and evidence; emerging trends and innovative approaches to teaching and learning. You will also enhance organizational focus on quality that is underpinned by more efficient compliance, data collection with supportive processes and systems. Furthermore, the ED Education will actively seek and cultivate partnerships with industry groups, community bodies and government departments to support GOTAFE’s long-term sustainability and to support GOTAFE to deliver innovative teaching and learning experiences to students in modern well-equipped campuses where students want to be.
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, GOTAFE are pursuing a strategic, future-focused, executive leader with demonstrated experience in student retention within the education sector, ideally TAFE. You will bring a wealth of experience and relevant qualifications in pedagogy/andragogy and hold the students best interests at the centre of all you do. You will have demonstrated experience developing unique and tailored strategies, programs and campus experiences that meet community and student expectations, thus ensuring retention. Furthermore you will retain strong community values, a passion for life-long learning and regional communities and proven experience engaging with and establishing connections with relevant stakeholder groups.
